If you wish to stop the Metronome entirely, press the "Stop" button at the bottom of the popup. You might not practice something this slowly or gradually. If you start making a lot of mistakes, go back. Then work up to 120 again, go back to 60 and play the notes on every click. You may choose to change the BPM and the tempo will adjust accordingly without having to stop and restart. When you reach 120 on the metronome, go back to 60 and play every two clicks instead of 4. To adjust the tempo again, tap on the Metronome Button and the popup will reappear.

While the button is hidden, you also will not be able to turn off the metronome until you exit full screen mode. Please note: if you enter full screen while the metronome is active you will still hear the sound, but the flashing button will not be visible until you exit full screen mode.
